According to its central association, the industry employs 4.8 million people in 967,200 businesses. Around 30 percent of all apprentices are employed in skilled crafts – 12.2 percent of the complete workforce. The total turnover of all businesses is 490.5 billion euros.
What is a business assessment?
A business assessment (known in Germany as a BWA) gives monthly information about costs and revenues, and the wealth or debt situation. The necessary data is taken from the financial accounts. What are domestic services?
Since 2003, skilled craft work carried out in private households is tax deductible as domestic services. Up to 20 percent of the invoice sum, to a maximum of 600 euros a year, can be deducted from the tax debt.
